Narikuravar Education and Welfare Society (Registration No. 108/90) has been working since 1990 for the Narikuravar tribal community in Tamil Nadu, India, to develop their education and social and economic conditions. The organization was founded by the late Mr. Mahendiran Suppai, who worked tirelessly for the development of Narikuravar community education in the remote hamlet of Devaryaneri, Tiruchirappalli district of Tamil Nadu, India. Our organization also focuses on health, disaster relief actions, women’s empowerment activities, livelihood programs, encouraging alternative occupations, and skill training initiatives for community empowerment. Earlier, the Narikuravar Education and Welfare Society (NEWS) worked with Give India, CRY, Skill Share International, Oxfam, and Ekam to improve the community in various ways with positive outcomes.
The organization's goal is to promote happiness and prosperity for the Narikuravar community’s children, women, adults, and elderly.
